Qatar Work Visa Procedure and Fees
Qatar’s economy is booming and only 15% of Qataris account for Qatar’s total population. Due to the boom in economy Qatar is expected to hire a lot more expatriates in the coming months and years.

In this post we’ll mostly cover the processes and fees associated with hiring foreign workers.
Fees and Procedure for the Issuance of Work Visas for Expatriates
This service enables business owners or establishments, as well as individuals, namely citizens and residents, to submit a request online, on the website of the Ministry of Interior (MOI), to issue work visas for those they bring in to Qatar for work, provided that there is a prior approval.
Online Instructions
Login with your smartcard to MOI e-services portal at: Qatar Ministry of Interior Website.
Select “Visa Services”, then “Issue Visa”.
Choose “Approval Consumption” in case of existing approval number.
Enter approval number or select it from the available list, then select the nationality and profession of the person.
Enter the person’s details so that the new visa number is displayed.
Submit the request and pay appropriate fees.
Fees
A fee of QR300 applies.
This service can be obtained any time, and the approval or visa numbers can be issued immediately, given that their final approval takes three days.
This service is also available via Metrash2, as well as MOI self-service kiosks and service centers.
Qatar Work Permit Renewal Procedure and Fees
The Qatari employer can renew the work permit for between one and three years through the government’s Residence Services portal. Approved employers have Qatari Smart ID cards which allow them to apply online.
Applications to renew a permit can be made three months before the current one expires. The fees are as follows:
Fees
QAR 1,000 for employees sponsored by companies;
500 for family sponsorships (for your spouse and children);
300 for employees on personal sponsorships.
Those renewing visas for three years can benefit from a 20% discount on the above fees.
Procedure and Fee for converting an existing visit visa with a new valid Work Visa
An employer can replace an existing used visit visa with a new valid work visa for the same person.
Online Instructions
Login with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI at: https://eservices.moi.gov.qa/eservices-portal/
Click on “Visa Services” then “Extend Visa”.
Enter the current visa number, you want to close, (consists of 12 characters) in the current visa number box.
Enter the new visa number, you want to open, (consists of 12 characters) in the new visa number box.
Pay appropriate fees.
Additional Information
The visa number, you want to close, should be used and the person should be inside country, while the visa number, you want to open, should be printed and valid to use.
Fees
QR500, in addition to violation fine on the used visa (if any).
Procedure and Fee for Business Visa for International Businessmen for Trading and Investment
This service allows businessmen and well-known business personalities to obtain a business visa in order to enter the State of Qatar and search for opportunities to boost and develop investments between their countries and the State of Qatar.
Offline Instructions
Submit visa application after entering all the required information.
Provide passport that is valid for no less than six months.
Attach two personal photos of the applicant.

The Department of Consular Affairs (https://www.mofa.gov.qa/en/the-ministry/organizational-structure/departments/department-of-consular-affairs) affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
Diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad.
Additional Information
Business visa is issued to all nationalities within 24 hours of entering the applicant’s information through an automated system.
Business visa is valid for three months from the date of its issuance, and visa holder shall enter the country before visa expiry date.
Business visa holder is allowed to stay in the country for one month from the entry date.
Business visa is extendable for a similar period and with a maximum of three months.
Businessmen are required to provide documents proving to the Qatari mission they are businessmen unless they are well-known business personalities to the mission head or consular official.

Procedure and Fee for Business Visa for Businessmen Related to Qatari Companies for Trading and Investment
This service enables companies and commercial establishments to submit a request online, on the website of the Ministry of Interior (MOI), to issue visa for businessmen, for trading and investment purposes. The visa is valid for only one month and cannot be extended.
Online Instructions
Fill out the online form, entering all the required information.
Attach the following documents:
Clear copy of passport
Copy of valid establishment ID and original
Copy of document that proves the profession
Pay appropriate fees if the application is approved.
To issue business visa via MOI e-services portal, please follow these steps:
Log in to the portal with your smartcard.
Select “Visa Services”, then “Issue Visa” and choose “Business Visa”.
Fill out the required information, such as name, birth date and place, passport details, phone number and address.
Enter your email address, if you want to receive a soft copy of the visa application receipt.
Click on “Confirm” and pay appropriate fees to issue the visa.
Offline Instructions
Download and fill out the paper form, then submit it at the Unified Services Centers.
Attach the above-mentioned required documents.
Pay appropriate fees.

Additional Information
The user shall own a smart card to use the service and have “e-government service” added to the card.
The applying company or institution shall have prior approval by the competent entity.
Proof that the visitor is a businessman shall be submitted when requesting the service.
The service is requested online or offline by a company representative or its owner.
The visitor shall have a departure and return ticket.
After the transaction is completed, an approval number appears for follow-up reasons.
